Wanderlust embodies a profound longing to travel and to discover. It is the quiet urge to disconnect from the noise of everyday life and become fully present—awakening all our senses to embrace the simplicity and beauty that nature, landscapes, wildlife, and fleeting moments have to offer.

French-Austrian photographer Eugénie Sophie has lived in several countries since childhood, shaping her deep sensitivity to place, movement, and belonging. Wherever she encounters nature’s refuge—its calm, its understated charm—she feels a sense of home.

Her ongoing photographic series, Wanderlust, began in 2010 during her studies at the Graphic School in Vienna. Guided by a search for moments filled with color, spontaneity, simplicity, and hope, the project has evolved organically over time, mirroring both her personal journey and her encounters with the natural world.

Since relocating to Sofia in the autumn of 2021 with her husband, their three cats, and one dog, Eugénie Sophie has found renewed inspiration in Bulgaria. Drawn to the country’s remarkable landscapes and rich natural heritage, she continues to expand the series through images that explore and celebrate the delicate relationship between humanity and the environment.
